Using an intraoral scanner in combination with the 3-D printer replaces the old and uncomfortable procedure of taking impressions to make plaster models. Dr. Wheeler uses the 3D printer to make models to plan treatment. He also uses the printed models of the patient’s teeth to creates clear aligners and retainers.
