Philosophy
Dr. Carl Wheeler believes in providing honest, thorough and personalized orthodontic care. His goal is to make his patients’ visits both a positive and an enjoyable experience. Dr. Wheeler enjoys his work as an orthodontic specialist and takes great pride in helping individuals to improve their smiles. Well-aligned teeth improve overall health and a beautiful smile encourages confidence and a healthy self-image.
Education
Dr. Wheeler studied as an undergraduate and dental student at The Ohio State University from 1981-1987. In 1987, he began his graduate training in the Orthodontic Program at The Ohio State University. He received his Master’s degree from that program in 1990 and began practicing with his father in Grove City, Ohio. Dr. Carl Wheeler was a faculty member at The Ohio State University’s Orthodontic Program for several years.
Toledo Practice History
In 1993, Dr. Wheeler and his family were pleased to move to Toledo where he joined the orthodontic practice of Dr. Ronald Nassar. Soon after, Dr. Nassar retired. In 2002, Dr. Wheeler moved his office to its current location on Sunforest Ct. Dr. Wheeler opened a second office in Archbold, Ohio in 1997. He enjoys working in the Archbold area one to two days per week. Dr. Wheeler became a Board-Certified Orthodontist in 1997 and believes in staying current with the latest procedures and techniques that may benefit his patients. He is one of the founding members of The Great Black Swamp Study Club of Northwest Ohio. Being active in this local study club keeps him practicing at the highest level of cosmetic dentistry and helps him to keep in touch with area dentists and dental specialists. Dr. Wheeler enjoys meeting new people through his work and helping them to achieve a beautiful and functional smile!
